Velocity

Show me Velocity
and I’ll feed you adrenaline
Sculpt me a landscape of fire and ice
and I’ll teach you how to drown, not swim

Take my breath as yours
shed your shoes of leather and skin
dance with the flames that beckon you
there are no lessons to begin, no nuns to grade your sin

The angels would hide their wings
if they could see us now
the curtain has fallen, my colors shown
and we’ve forgotten to bow

Tip toe back to me when reality
want to bind you from seeing
for I will sacrifice all that is lost
to find you and ravage your sense of well-being

A poem that takes my breath away. I particularly love the feelings expressed in these lines:

Sculpt me a landscape of fire and ice
and I’ll teach you how to drown, not swim

    and

for I will sacrifice all that is lost
to find you and ravage your sense of well-being
